The Ministry of Home Affairs has requested all the local levels of the Kathmandu Valley to prohibit entry to the valley except for urgent work during the lockdown period. The House has taken such a decision after the discussion of the people’s representatives of the Kathmandu Valley. Earlier, the Municipal Forum, a joint body of mayors and deputy mayors of two metropolises and 16 municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley, had demanded the government to tighten the entry into the valley.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has sent a letter to all the local levels to close the entry point of the valley as per the demand of the locals. In a letter sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs to all the local levels of the Kathmandu Valley for implementation, it has been requested to completely seal all the entry points of the Kathmandu Valley except for urgent purposes.

In the letter, it has been requested to stop the secret entry completely. If found, action will be taken. The letter also states that all the local levels of the Kathmandu Valley, including the local level of Naka entry, should coordinate with the local administration to quarantine the hotels, party palaces, community buildings and other possible sites in their respective areas.

If you have to enter the Kathmandu Valley for urgent work, you have to test the RDT as soon as it is available at your own expense before entering the Kathmandu Valley.

In the letter sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs to the local level of the valley with the request, it is also mentioned that the collective relief being done by the local organizations and clubs will be stopped if the food distribution does not coordinate with the local level.
