Kathmandu: Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally crossed the 62 thousands mark with a spike of 1,204 new cases in last 24 hours, data released by the Health Ministry this evening showed. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 62,717 including 17,129 active cases. The country also witnessed 11 deaths during the 24-hour period, it said.

In the last 24 hours, 1,204 people have been confirmed infected in Nepal, said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Prof. Dr. Jageshwar Gautam informed. At the same time, the total number of corona infections in Nepal has reached 62,797.

The deceased have been identified as two women and three men from Lalitpur, one woman and one man from Kathmandu and two women each from Morang, Rautahat, Sarlahi and Makwanpur.
Similarly, one man each from Banke and Rupandehi died due to coronavirus infection.
In the last 24 hours, 1447 people have been discharged without infection. Even so, the number of those discharged so far has reached 45,267. The discharge rate for the infection is 72 percent.
Currently, there are 17,129 people are active cases in Nepal. Of them, 9,153 are in institutional and 7,976 are in home isolation, according to the ministry.
Similarly, the number of actively infected people in the country today is 17 thousand 129. Of these, 9,153 are in institutional isolation and 9,976 in home isolation.
